How It Started…

Melt Creativity was starting to develop its first mobile game as a new company directed by Zenta Staley and Simon Giles. The game is called Mount Frosty, a single user snowboarding game where the user controls an avatar to ski and collect coins while avoiding obstacles.

Skills Utilised

  • Instagram
  • Python
  • Google Suite/Scripts
  • Java

What I did

I liaised on design aspects of the game with the lead developer that was based in Slovenia. I reviewed code and researched problems the game sometimes had in development.

I reviewed different platforms and monitored workflow with Trello issuing jobs assisting management of tasks.

I assisted with management of the social media account and built some small scripts for liking and following relevant stakeholders in mobile gaming. I built a tracking system through Google Scripts for monitoring competitor social media accounts for their likes, follow and following statistics. These statistics included continual monitoring and integration of popular hashtags for greater media exposure.

How Its Going

What I Learnt

The importance of pushing back and time management. Creating routine and sticking to it. This included planning, delegating, schedule adaptation, not wasting time waiting and knowing sometimes to just say no. These can all be valuable in getting the best outcome for the team and project and depend on the situation.

Melt Creativity Now

Zenta and Simon are still developing games for mobile and console. They have currently built a large merchandise offering and moved their offices to Paddington.
